We are Based in Southern Orange County, California; We are active in many projects to help teachers and children.
May meeting: Mental Health Awareness monthBeta Phi installed our new officers, and we enjoyed a presentation from Gina Capobianco, a fellow DKG sister from Omicron Chapter and a teacher in Los Angeles. She has struggled with mental health issues and found her way through by writing. She shares her story freely to open up minds about mental health struggles, getting them out of the shadows. She has published four books of poems and is working on a memoir.
She guided us through the process of how writing can help tap our feelings and find our strength to deal with hard times. It was an amazing and heartfelt presentation. Thank you, Gina. Her books are available on Amazon.com. |
