The history of our chapter, Beta phiIn 1991 past Chi State President Marjorie Marting moved to Irvine, California, knowing no one but her son and his wife. She was asked by Chi State to charter a DKG chapter in Irvine. So Marjorie read the local newspapers and checked out local schools for a year and then held an orientation tea and invited all teachers she had read or heard about in Irvine. She also got active members living in the Irvine area to attend. Then on April 26,1992, Beta Phi Chapter was chartered and new members initiated and officers elected.
